Democrats have taken control of the U.S. House of Representatives, which was a massive blow to President Donald Trump's administration.

On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the Democrats won more than the 23 seats required to take over the lower chamber of Congress.

As reported by BBC, Americans voted for all 435 seats, and the results achieved will allow Democrats to have a great deal of power over the President.

A BIG WIN

With this important win, Democrats will be able to launch several investigations when it comes to Tump's affairs, whether they are related to his administration or his businesses.

Nothing is safe from the Democrats' hands; from tax returns to potential conflicts of interest, everything will be up for investigation and bound to be analyzed to the core.

MORE POWERFUL THAN EVER

But that's not all; now that Democrats have taken control of the House of Representatives, they will have the power to put an end to Trump's legislative plans.

If Trump still plans on building the famous wall between the U.S. and Mexico, Democrats can easily shot that idea down with an intervention.

PELOSI'S JOY

They will have quite an extensive oversight regarding the President's agenda and can even investigate Trump's finances if they so desire. All of this has made Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic leader, extremely happy.

This win was definitely a severe blow to Trump's aspirations of staying in the lead and in control, but the mogul still sort of is considering that the Republican party has managed to retain control of the Senate.

According to the news outlet, controlling the Senate can be crucial; if Republicans stick together, they will be able to confirm every single one of the President's appointments.

THE IMPORTANCE OF VOTING

These mid-term elections have been very talked about, especially by celebrities, who often used their status and influence to drive people to vote.

One of those celebrities was former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, who claimed that people should not avoid voting because, by doing so, they would be giving up their chance to make a difference.
